The weekend is about to start and what makes it even special is that Valentine’s Day falls on Sunday! What are your plans for the weekend? Would you rather go out with friends and loved ones to celebrate this special day, or stay at home and use the Jumia House Ghana Valentine’s Day voucher to order in? If you choose the latter, then here are seven exciting ideas that can get you in the mood for Valentines at home.
This is the best time to get some fresh flowers for the living room. Fresh flowers do not only provide a romantic ambience but very colourful ones will beautify, freshen and keep your living room healthy. These Valentine roses, lilies or carnations can be placed in vases or jars of water. When preserved well, these plants can last for months.
Instead of spending money on buying new vases, design your own with cardboard, or spray it gold to add a touch of class.
The walls should match the occasion. What about placing some prints on the wall? A love note or valentine cards can be stringed together and hanged on the ceiling or placed on the wall.
The colour theme for the season is white and red. Why don’t you change the colour or the pillowcases to that? You could even try sewing new covers for the pillows using sequins or plain white and red fabrics.
They sound a little cliché but lighting candles in the room and lowering the lights will create a romantic ambience. Don’t just spread the candles but arrange them in a nice row to create a pattern. You could also consider using scented candles and fancy candle holders for this occasion.
What hangings are you using to decorate the walls? You can create something simple using paper, sheet or a fabric designed into heart shaped decorations. Think of other shapes that go with the occasion. To avoid changing the décor after the Valentine season, use neutral colours for the design.
Photo holders can be made using cardboard and glue. Use the theme colour for the season to create the photo holder. Make sure you create memories during the season by taking photographs and placing them in the holders.
Here are simple tips to help you decorate your home for Valentine’s Day. We would love to see photos of your designed home! Share them with us on Instagram.
