Accra is the Capital city of Ghana and the most developed so it is no surprise that huge malls are springing up all over the city. Malls in Accra are great for shopping and meeting up with friends. You will find a large variety of shops, restaurants, items and activities to keep you occupied at the mall. Here is a list of the malls in Accra as well as some upcoming mall projects in Ghana.

The AnC Mall is one of the oldest malls in Ghana located in East Legon. It was actually the first mall in Ghana and was established in 2006. The mall has all you need in a mall. You will find retail shops, jewellery shops, banks, restaurants, a gym and much more. The mall even has a university within, which is a first in Ghana. There is a nice mix of indigenous and international businesses within the mall. The parking lot has solar-powered roofs which provide a green power alternative to electricity from the national grid to tenants within the mall.
The Accra Mall is a grand mall located close to the Tetteh Quarshie interchange. It is, by far, the largest mall in Accra at the moment with many shops, eateries, playgrounds, cinemas and more. The Accra Mall is a great place to hang out and get to meet new people. It has parking space for about 660 cars, over 70 shops, a radio station, a casino, 12 restaurants and 5 hall cinemas. You will love to return to this mall over and over again.
Located in Achimota, The Achimota Mall is a favourite hang out spot for many within the area. The large compound and open-air design of the mall make it a unique experience for malls in Accra. There are live bands that grace the centre of the mall at various times to give you that Ghanaian vibe. You will find all the major shops and brands here as well as an underground carpark and a large play area for children.
The Palace Mall did not start as a mall but quickly developed into one of the most visited malls in Accra. It started as the Palace Hypermarket and later transitioned into the Palace Mall. The mall has a large shopping area where many shoppers like to spend most of their time perusing the variety they have on display. You are spoiled for choice when you get to the eatery section of the mall: Some of the best restaurants in the country can be found at the Palace Mall.
Located opposite the main entrance to the University of Ghana, the Legon City Mall is a unique mall. Some parts are still under construction but you can still enjoy shopping at its supermarket or you can get a book at the large bookshop that has a children’s play area right by it. The Legon City Mall has five storeys of shops for your pleasure. This is one of the few malls in Accra with so many floors. The mall has been in existence for a while, but only started functioning some months ago. Some shops are still empty; there’s a lot of space for vendors.
Located close to the popular Nungua Barrier, the Junction Mall is a large mall with unique attractions, especially for children. You will find children’s playgrounds and even bumper cars that children can amuse themselves in. The mall has a large car park and an open-air like design that connects shoppers to nature in a special way. There is also a basketball court for those who like to have a good workout.
The Marina Mall is located about a stone’s throw away from the Kotoka International Airport. The mall is well designed and can accommodate a lot of people, with lots of shops to keep you busy. This mall has a number of floors where you can usually count on shops occasionally running promotions and discounted sales. The outside may not look like a traditional mall but once you step inside, you are guaranteed an amazing time.
This mall features a large shopping space where you can find almost any gadget, equipment or item. Many people visit this mall to shop for items mainly because the cost is relatively lower than in other conventional malls. It is run by Chinese and can be found in different locations such as Spintex road and at Ashaiman.
The Oyarifa Mall is the latest Mall in Accra. It was officially opened to the general public on the 19th of December 2020. Residents of Oyarifa attended the event with excitement. The Oyarifa Mall will be the first of its kind within that area and will serve residents of Oyarifa, Adenta, Teiman, Aburi, Ayi Mensa, Damfa and environs. The mall will have a mix of local and international brands to cater to the shopping needs of Ghanaians.
Work is already underway to complete this resplendent structure. When completed, the Ghana International Mall shall be, by far, the biggest mall in Ghana. It is going to be a grand mixed-use property featuring a combination of commercial, residential buildings and recreational areas. Watch this video below to know more
