Throughout the year, Jumia House Ghana has been offering you advice on how to plan and keep a garden, the benefits of keeping a lawn and cultivating annuals in Ghana. This season is the right time to reap the benefits of the various tips we have been offering you all year. Here are a few ideas on how to make the outdoors of your home look fabulous for the festive season.
Lawns
Lawns outside your home save the ground from soil erosion. They also beautify your home but the lawn can serve another purpose in this festive season. They can serve as a venue for all the Christmas parties, barbeques and all other event you are hosting. The only sparking up you need to do is to decorate the exterior of home fully with some beautiful LED lights.
Hedges
Hedges are walls of plants or shrubs. They serve as decorative pieces especially during this festive season. In the temperate part of the world, the hedges lose their leaves during the winter season so Christmas lights and motifs are used to decorate the hedges making the exterior of homes look beautiful. Luckily in Ghana, the Christmas season is when we experience the driest weather thus, no need to worry about the rains coming down to destroy the decorative pieces or the lights on the hedges. This is the season to take chances; decorate those hedges!
Trees
Trees in the yard serve a purpose during the Christmas season especially, trees with long trunks and limbs or branches. The trunks can be wrapped with the lights up to the limbs of the tree. Single or multicolored lights can be used for the tree trunks. The colours of the light will be determined by the ambiance or the painting of the exterior of your home. Bright multicolored lights are best for plain coloured outdoors and the single coloured lights are best for brightly painted outdoors.
Christmas Tree
Firs are the most common trees that are cultivated to serve as decorative pieces for the Christmas but any other tree can serve as a Christmas tree during this season. In most European countries they are sold in shops but in Ghana, they can be cultivated in your home. String together some lights into the branches of the firs to brighten your front or backyard.
Backyard Garden
You might be wondering what you can do with your backyard garden this festive season. You do not need to put lights in there but the food from the garden can serve as ingredients for the sauces, stews and all other meals for your visitors this season. This will help you save some money.
