Finding the right interior and home décor can be a lot of stress especially in Ghana. Joelle Eyeson, a top interior designer who has been in Ghana for the past year, shares with us six of her favorite stores where you can find home décor items in Accra:

Luxury Home

Luxury Home is on the Spintex Road and they have amazing home furnishings which specialize in bedroom, dining and living room furniture. All the items in their showroom can be custom made to how you would like it.  In my opinion, they have some of the best sofas that I have seen in Accra. Go there if you’re looking for something luxurious yet contemporary at the same time.

Casa Trasacco

This is located behind the Accra Mall, it is on the pricey side but they have some amazing an eclectic range of home furnishes, from contemporary to quirky. They have everything from flooring to kitchens. I would highly recommend this store if your budget will allow.

Wild Gecko

Located around Dzorwulu, Wild Gecko is a great store if you like local furnishing. With the majority of the items locally sourced in Ghana and the rest of the continent, Wild Gecko gives you a modern spin on African home décor.

La Maison

I love this store, one of my favorite décor stores in Accra. It is a little on the pricey side but they have brilliant high quality finishes from all over the globe. The stores have a very Scandinavian modern feel to it. Great if you want to find one off pieces for the home or if you would like to pick up a gift. They have three branches – Accra Mall, Osu and Airport City.

Royal Habits

I have always been fascinated with Asian culture and their designs, patterns and colours. I think in a past life I was even Indian. I was pleased to come across Royal Habits when I was looking for a rug for a client. I felt like I had stepped into Aladdin’s cave. I absolutely love their décor items. If you are fascinated with the rich Asian/Persian culture then I would highly recommend this place as they have some great pieces.

The Aburi Art Centre

I know this isn’t in Accra but it’s not far from Accra. It is about 30 minutes’ drive from Adenta. I love to go to the Aburi Art Centre as there are some very skilled craftsmen that are willing to make you whatever you want if you can’t find exactly what you are looking for. Also a great place to buy some traditional home decor items and gifts.
