Haatso is one of the newly developed neighborhoods in Accra. It is located at the Ga East Municipal District in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency. Haatso is close to the plush Westlands, North Legon, Madina and Dome. The main road which links Haatso to neighbouring communities is quite busy especially during the early part of the day and late in the evenings. The traffic situation depicts the highly populated nature of Haatso and its surrounding areas.
Haatso is a popular route for commuters in neighbouring environs because it has a taxi rank and a “mini” bus station where vehicles convey them to the Achimota New Station, Madina, Circle, Accra, Osu etc. Popular areas in Haatso include Ecomog, Block Factory, Supermarket, Yam Market, among others. Crime rates in Haatso are at the barest minimum due to the presence of the community police, neighbour watchdog committees and the proximity of the Atomic Police Station, which is about five minutes drive from the Haatso township.
