  1. Insurance and Value:

A building without a permit will not be protected by insurance companies and are non-existent in their eyes. In the event where you are selling a house without a permit, you will not be able to sell the house at its true value.

  2. Quick Sale:

A building without a permit will not sell fast. This is because financial institutions will not be willing to finance the purchase of a building without a permit. Buying a building that is without a permit and then trying to obtain the permit after is very costly

  3. Safety:

Acquiring a permit allows inspectors to vet and ensure that construction of the building meets all the safety standards. For contractors, the building permit adds to your experience and credibility.

  4. Investment:

A building without a permit is not financially stable for investment in the eyes of banks and investment houses. If you invest in a building which does not have a permit, the value of your investment reduces significantly.
