Top Tips to Beautifying your Garden this Christmas

A beautiful garden is one of the most welcoming things every home can boast of and if you do not have one, maybe you would like to list that as a new year resolution for 2021.  You can have a garden for aesthetic reasons, as a hobby and to protect your soil from erosion. There is nothing better than having a nice lawn in front of your home with a white garden chair under a neatly trimmed tree where you can relax and read your good book or receive visitors.

The other amazing thing is that keeping a garden gives you a beautiful venue in your home to organize events especially now that we are in the Christmas season.

1. Include Flowers

To break the monotony of the green garden, include plants with very beautiful flowers.

Plants like sunflower (yellow), hibiscus or carnation (red), blue iris or hyacinth (blue), mimosa or lily (pink) in a garden makes it look very attractive and it will also attract insects to your garden for pollination.

2. Get rid of weeds

Weeds change the nature of the garden. They compete with the plants for nutrients, sunlight and space. It also messes up the garden and you cannot see the real beauty of the garden. Get rid of the weeds by using weedicides or with garden tools or by handpicking.

3. Use bright containers for the plants

Brightly painted containers often make the garden look nicer.  To catch the attention of more people, paint the pots and the flower bed with bright coloured paints. Make the pots more visible by cultivating smaller pants near the borders of the pot and the larger ones in the middle.

4. Do not overcrowd

Gardens with fewer plants are prettier because each plant can be managed better. Do not occupy every space with a plant or the garden will be crowded. Make sure you grow some of the plants in pots and keep them in a room. Plants like Aloe Vera grow very well indoors and they do not demand much attention, so make sure the garden is not crowded.

5. Assemble plants

Assembling plants of the same variety will give the garden a more presentable look. Giving the garden a theme, for instance, all brightly coloured plants grouped at a particular place will give the garden look less cluttered.

6. Add more objects for impact

You can either choose a particular plant or a piece of furniture and place them outdoors to create a beautiful picture. The boredom will immediately be lost, if a nicely painted furniture is placed right in the middle of the garden or one beautiful plant or tree is placed at the centre of the garden or at a strategic place where it can be seen by everybody.

7. Include some art

The same way you take time to decorate the interior of your room, that same time should be invested in beautifying the garden. Your garden could do with some beautiful arts made from the flower pots or with some nicely designed ceramic wall hangings or even garden gnomes. There are some flower pots that can be hanged in the garden to make the garden look great.
