It is just perfect for picnics and laying down to read a novel or just relax as you watch your children at play. Families love to come to the Aburi Botanical Gardens to spend time with nature.
There are many different types of trees and plants which have been labelled to help you identify them. This could serve as a learning adventure for your children in basic school or generally interested in botany.
You could take a day trip to Aburi and back if you live in Accra but for people who may be coming from far, you might want to look for accommodation nearby.
The Aburi Botanical gardens also have a sculpture piece known as the “Tree of Life”. It is an amazing piece of art with carvings of human beings which signify the entirety of human life on earth. The sculpture was made by hand and is renowned as one of the best sculptural works in Ghana today.
The Aburi Gardens helicopter is another attraction which many people like to explore. This is a broken down helicopter in the garden which evokes some colonial-era nostalgia in many people. Unsurprisingly, lots of people like to take pictures in the gardens.
Other attractions within the gardens include the Bush House, the Rock Garden, the Pergola or Lover’s lane, the Ficus tree and the School of Horticulture.
Enjoying the Aburi Botanical Gardens comes at a price, though. You can have access to the entire Garden for the prices below:
Adults – GHS 20
Children – GHS 5
If you, however, want to take pictures in the park through a photoshoot then you would have to pay a little extra.
