Six Easy and Elegant Holiday Decorating Ideas for Small Spaces

Small is the new big – our Christmas decorating tips are filled with clever tricks and stylish tips to spread some holiday cheer.

Here are a few ideas to use:

  1. Choose a small tree – A Christmas tree is always a good idea for Christmas.  When selecting a tree for a space, consider the size of the room.  A small tree is the best bet for a small room.  To make the small tree as visible as possible, consider placing it on a coffee table in the corner of the room.
  2.  What about Paintings – Instead of the real Christmas tree in a room, consider a painting of it on the wall as an alternative. A beautiful sketch of a green Christmas tree on the wall in the space can also signify the season.  A photo of a tree can also be placed on the wall above a lighting fireplace.
  3. The smell of Christmas – Is it beginning to smell a lot like Christmas? During this festive season, most homes smell of delicious pastries. This smell, in addition to dry Harmattan weather brings out the Christmas atmosphere.  To create your own Christmas fragrance, alternate between vanilla and cinnamon air fragrances. Try some DIY fragrances by boiling some lemon peels and white vinegar.
  4. Make use of the windows and the doors – Windows and doors have a number of purposes the holiday season. To beautify the windows and doors, place garlands or wreaths around these areas. Hang some twinkle lights around windows and doorways when space is tight to create a seasonal feel.
  5. Do not forget the surfaces – Coffee tables and flat surfaces can also enjoy a festive flare. Some candles, greenery, a leaning wreath or tree branches in vases are a stylish solution on surfaces to complement the feel of any room.
  6. Decorative Pillows – Place festive pillows on your couches and beds, bringing out the festive mood of the room and guests.
