Nana Akua Oppong-Birmeh

Nana Akua Oppong-Birmeh

Is a trailblazer and founder of Arch Xenus, the first female-dominated firm of architects, and currently the largest private architectural practice in the country. The challenges she encountered as a young professional with hopes of settling into a meaningful family life while building excellence in her career led to the birth of Arch Xenus in 2011, a firm which has given opportunities to several young architects especially young women who would otherwise be lost in the male dominated world of architecture practice.

Nana Akua has proven a good eye for designing the finest architecture plans, from residences, and financial projects to hospitality. International Women's Day
Kiran Daswani

Kiran Daswani

Kiran Daswani is the Chief Executive Officer of The Greens Estate, an acclaimed real estate development firm that has been providing luxurious, diverse, and affordable residential properties in Accra for years.

Kiran attributes the start of The Greens to when she acquired 7 acres of land from a distressed seller, and was quite clueless as to what to do with the assets of land at the time. Through consultation and with a vision in hand, she made the decision to develop the lands and sell them; what has become today The Greens Estates.

A family woman and a mother of 2, she believes that despite the challenges faced over the years, the rewards have been immeasurable. For Kiran Daswani, constant growth is non-negotiable. She continues to learn and grow both in her leadership and as an individual as she remains a role model for her sons; this she deems an epitome of success and the ultimate validation of her efforts.

If there is one lesson she has picked up along the way and held close, it is that “success extends beyond financial gain. Success is rather defined as the lasting legacy we leave behind and the lives we touch along the way

In an industry seemingly dominated by men, these women as well many others before them and along with them continue to defy the odds. Between the lines of these many written successes also lie written many failures, falls, doubts, and biases. However, to mention their names today is to acknowledge how far they have come, and give an idea of how much further they will go. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Meqasa says Ayekoo, bien joué! Kazi nzuri, Well done!
