Which Property Is Right For You?

Global real estate platform explores how to choose the perfect property type

Choosing a home is one of life’s biggest decisions. Houses are not a one size fits all purchase; each property type has its pros and cons. So, how do you find the place that is perfect for you?

Global real estate platform meqasa has compiled a list of property styles on the market to help you decide which home fits you best.

Condominium:

More and more people are considering condos. The term actually refers to the style of ownership of the property and how it is divided. A collection of individual housing units, condominiums are traditionally managed by a condo board.

With monthly fees to take care of the grounds, bills, and building maintenance, condos are perfect if you are looking for a lock-up-and-leave property.

Best suited for: Singles, Retirees

Single Family Residence:

Usually a detached house with its own lot of land, often complete with a garden and space for parking.

If privacy is your main concern when choosing a property, then a single family residence may be just what you need.

However, if you would rather not deal with maintenance, such as fixing the plumbing and electrics, or landscaping the garden, then perhaps a condo is more your style.

Best suited for Couples, Families

Townhouse:

A townhouse is typically a tall, narrow house, usually with at least three floors. Often spotted in densely populated cities, townhouses share at least two common walls with neighboring, often identical, units. Whilst with condos, your land is shared with other condo owners, townhouse owners own the small yards that belong to their unit. Unlike condominiums, these properties have their own entrance and exit, which means more privacy and less noise than communal hallways.

Best suited for: Young, small families

Villa:

A villa used to refer to the expansive estates of the Romans. Today, it refers to private properties, often with landscaped gardens and impressive views. A villa is very similar to a single-family residence, as homebuyers purchase the house and land together. Owners are responsible for maintaining both the indoor and outdoor facilities and have the freedom to decorate and renovate the property and its land. More responsibility than a condo, villas are perfect for house hunters searching for more space and privacy.

Best suited for: Families

Eco Home:

Eco-houses are environmentally friendly, low-impact properties, designed to have a low carbon footprint. The construction of the house combines sustainable development, design, and living.  Built using materials such as solar panels and geothermal heating, eco houses have a low impact on the environment, lower energy costs and provide house hunters with a healthy place to live.

Best suited for Everyone
