Payment of Ground Rent – Lands Commission

The Lands Commission wishes to inform the general public, particularly lessees/ assignees of State Lands in the Greater Accra Region, to settle all outstanding ground rent. All lessees and assignees are required by lease covenants to pay annual grounds rent in respect of the State/ Vested Lands whether legally demanded or not.

Officers of the Lands Commission in the Greater Accra Region are embarking on an exercise to recover outstanding ground rent and enforce covenants enshrined in the lessees.

To begin the payment process, the lessee/ assignee must obtain a Rent Demand Notice and a Ground Rent Invoice from the office at the Regional Office of the Lands Commission. Payment can be made through the Ghana.gov platform, any participating bank or at the onsite bank at the Regional Office of the Lands Commission with an ID, the lessee’s phone number, postal address and email address.

The Lands Commission intends to take legal action against all lessees/ assignees who do not settle their outstanding rent arrears.
