Roman Ridge is one of the planned neighbourhoods in Accra. It is located in the northern part of Accra, bordered by Airport Residential Area, Dzorwulu, New Town and Pig Farm. It is a residential area with very large buildings. Roman Ridge is considered by many as the vicinity for the affluent.

A very popular landmark is the Roman Ridge School, which offers the best quality British education spiced up with Ghanaian culture. It is a multi-cultural environment exposing children to the various cultures and traditions of the world. It has 20-pupil size class which allows teachers to provide more extensive lessons to its pupils. Established in 1975, Jack and Jill is also located at the Roman Ridge, providing students with sound basic education for children.

The Ghana Institution of Engineers, a body of professional engineers was established in 1978 to unite all the engineering disciplines. It organizes workshops, seminars, courses as well as aids its members to conduct researches. The mission is to lead in the development of science and engineering, share knowledge, instil ethical and professionalism in its members, and to establish structures to ensure the good corporate image of the institution.

Located at Roman Ridge is the Centre for National Distance Learning, an agency under the Ministry of education which ensures the Ghanaian citizen both at home and abroad get access to education using the distance education model. It is also mandated to regulate the distance education by offering support and coordinating activities with both public and private sectors.

The Pan-African Writers Association (PAWA) house is opposite to the Accra Girls High School, a popular ground which hosts activities of the Ghana Association of Writers. If you are a lover of arts and literature, watch out for their monthly meetings and other events.

The Indian and Nigerian High Commissions are both located at Roman Ridge. These High Commissions are representations of their countries and they provide diplomatic relations with the Ghanaian citizens. Their services include providing passports, visas, organizing events and programmes here in Ghana.

Roman Ridge has the first medical laboratory in West Africa -Medlab. Medlab provides accurate tests using international standardized analysers manned by very qualified personnel. It also has branches in Kumasi and Takoradi.

The Roman Ridge Shopping Arcade is a shopping complex which houses various structures including Escapade Cafe/Bistros, a restaurant which serves the best salads, Azmeera Restaurant which serves continental and traditional dishes in serene atmosphere as well as a pharmacy, a travel and tour agency and a cafeteria.

Recently, apartment blocks and similar real estate developments have sprung up in Roman Ridge in response to increasing demands for prime accommodation.
