Meqasa Home and Property Fair 2024: Major Learnings and Highlights

Meqasa.com recently drew the curtains on its seventh Home and Property Fair with a commitment to delivering value to real estate enthusiasts, home seekers, and investors. This year’s Meqasa Home and Property Fair 2024 sponsored by Goldkey Properties, Clifton Homes, Citi Fm and Channel One Tv made a return to the plush Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, bringing together industry leaders, property developers, and potential homeowners for an enriching experience.

The event began with a warm opening address by Kelvin Nyame, Chief Executive Officer of meqasa.com. In his speech, Nyame reflected on the tremendous growth and positive feedback the fair has garnered over the years. He shared how the event has become a key platform for fostering connections within the real estate industry and empowering Ghanaians to make informed property decisions.

The Meqasa CEO also hinted at exciting future plans for Meqasa, teasing the possibility of a Meqasa Home and Property Fair expanding internationally, with an eye on the United States. This announcement sparked great enthusiasm among attendees and exhibitors.

Also gracing the opening ceremony was Keynote Speaker, Rev. Stephen Yaw Osei, Chief Director for the Ministry of Works and Housing and Guest Speaker, Mr. Patrick Ebo Bonful, President of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA). Both took turns delivering impactful speeches, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing affordable housing challenges and the dedication of their respective organisations to the future growth and development of the real estate sector in Ghana.

1. Seminars

The Meqasa Home and Property Fair, as usual, featured two seminars that hosted two insightful speakers.

Maurice Auoad, CEO of IVI Properties who was speaker for the first day on ‘’How to Select the Perfect Property for Airbnb/Short-Let Investments’ emphasised the importance of adding value-added services to short-let investment properties to attract more guests and increase profitability. He also highlighted the importance of profiling guests for security reasons and being prudent with your rates with regards to transfer charges and taxes.
