Jumia House Experience from the Northern Region

Jumia House, as the leading property portal is taking agents on its websites through a series of training programmes. The last session that took place a week ago took agents through ways of turning online leads into business. Today, Jumia House Ghana interviews Sadat Suleman of Haccba Consult Estates who sheds some light on the real estate sector in the Northern Region and how Jumia House has been beneficial to his company.

Jumia House Ghana (GH): Can you please introduce yourself?

Sadat(S): I am Sadat from Haccba Consult. Haccba sells houses and lands for commercial and residential purposes. We started with Jumia House and so far I can say we have ten listings on Jumia House.  I have had a lot of contacts through Jumia House – some from outside the country and we have closed about three deals through Jumia House.

GH: So what properties have you listed on Jumia House?

S: Our properties include bare lands, uncompleted buildings as well as some other real estates.

GH: How did you hear about Jumia House?

S: I heard about Lamdi through one media, I can’t really remember specifically.  I saw their advert and quickly visited the site. What I really like is the interface which is very simple.  It’s quite easy for me to upload one listing and after  I started listing on Jumia House.

GH: What can you say about the services you have been receiving from Jumia House?

S: Jumia House is very flexible and the steps are very simple to go through. On the website, you are able to get directions on how to upload properties. One thing you need to know is that after listing, they would call to tell you if you have been successful or not. In case you didn’t do anything properly, your properties will be pending  and as soon as you make the corrections, you will receive a call indicating your listings are correct.

GH: Can you give us some insight into the real estate sector in the Northern Region?

S: I can say the real estate sector in the Northern Region is picking up and that is encouraging. Many people are putting up properties but the prices are a little bit on the high side however, a lot of people are taking up the challenge. In the next five years, we believe that there will be a lot of properties in the Northern Region and the prices will be very affordable.

GH: Are there any similarities between the market here in Accra and the Northern Region?

S: Everybody knows Accra is the capital and the real estate sector is booming however, more of these companies in Accra are moving up there because they see opportunities in the Northern Region.

GH: Did you purposefully come to Accra for the training?

S: Yes, this is my second time.  The last time I missed the training programme because I left quite early but this is the most important schedule on my calendar today and I haven’t been disappointed. I learnt a lot of new things including better ways of handling customers, how to treat your property and ways of running adverts. That was the first time I had time to learn things like that and my mind was blown away. I know I won’t miss the next training.
