Having a spare bedroom to offer your house guest is nice to have but you do not have one.
We have some tips to make your home comfortable and hospitable for your house guest. Here they are:
If it’s possible to give your guest a dedicated room. This means if for the time your guest in town your children can share a room or sleep in your room, do this. You can convert a storage room in the house into a hospitable space. Make an appraisal of your home and decide which space you can convert into a hospitable space for your guest.
You have decided to have your guest sleep in your living room, we recommend having a privacy screen. This screen should be put in the area where your house guest would be sleeping. You can use a folding screen that you can tuck away once your guest leaves.
The space you may be giving your guest is not big but make your guest feel welcome by creating a space where they can keep their things. You can have a table where your guest can keep his/her toiletries. You can also invest in a collapsible storage space for guests.
Be sure to give your house guest a space close to the bathroom. In the bathroom create a space for the guest to place their toothbrush and body soap.
Consider the temperature in the space you will be giving to your guest. Provide a standing fan and sleeping clothes to make your guest comfortable no matter the temperature.
For guest who will be sleeping in open spaces like the living room, you can provide them with a table lamp. This would be convenient as they would not need to get out of their bed to turn on and off the light. It will also make the space more intimate.
