Communicating Better in the New Year

2015 is about three days away and this is the best time to take stock of the entire year and what you wish to achieve in the coming year. As a real estate agent, your main aim is to create many leads which will result in you closing as many deals as possible. One of the keys to closing these deals is an agent’s ability to communicate and relate appropriately with clients. Here are a few avenues through which you can communicate better in the New Year.

Stay Current – The first step to communicating well is staying updated with the latest in the real estate sector. During the year, a real estate broker advised all real estate agents to be consultants to their clients, as in being able to offer clients advice on the type of properties they should go for. The only way a real estate agent can serve as an advisor is when he/she is updated with the latest trends and the properties in his/her care. The way to go for any real estate agent is by remaining on top with the most current information on the market. Read about what is going on in Ghana as well as the trends in other countries.

The Phone Calls – Most agents are reached via phone calls and it is important to learn phone etiquette. As an agent, there is the need to have some warmth in your voice whenever you answer the phone. If you do not have enough information about the property, conduct the proper research in other to come up answers for the clients. That act will increase your level of credibility. Do not shout on the phone or ask clients about their budgets before sounding nice.

Remember the emails – If you are listed on a website like Jumia House, it is very necessary to check emails regularly. Respond to the emails with the appropriate text and the correct tenses. Clients look out for real estate agents who respond promptly to emails. Set up a time to respond to emails and this should be done at least once a day.

Make good use of Social Media – There is no proper communication if a real estate agent in the 21st Century is absent on social media platforms. These are cheaper means of reaching out to potential clients. Social Media platforms like Facebook enables you upload photos and a short description of the properties you have for sale, while Twitter allows you to keep your followers up to date with the latest information of the company.  These are easy ways of communicating to the general public about the products the agency has for sale.

Let your website communicate – At a glance, a website is able to speak volumes about a company’s brand. As a real estate agent, there is the need to have a website which will allow you to reach out to clients all over the world.  If the agent does not have the requisite skills to create a website, contract a professional to create one for the agency.

Make your brand visible – Creating an image for the company should be based on the real estate’s discretion, the needs and the budget of the agency. The company can be made visible by through advertising on billboards, on television and through radio commercials. The company can also hand out flyers and hand bills. As stated earlier, the agency should take such a decision by conducting market survey. The results will enable the company reach a decision which will be beneficial and enable the agency to reach its maximum goal..
