‘Clean Your Frontage’ By-Laws in Accra Has Begun

 

As part of the initiative to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has urged Ghanaians to make arrest of people who flout the by-laws on sanitation in Ghana.

The following are some tips to follow in regards to the by-laws on sanitation in Ghana. 

 

  • Do not dump refuse into drains, open spaces, gutters, behind walls, indiscriminately or burn refuse in one’s compound. 

 

  • Do not defecate in the open, rains or one’s compound. 

 

  • Do not discharge effluent into spaces, drains or the environment. 

 

  • Provide standard containers for refuse storage as prescribed by the Assembly.

 

  • Keep drains abut (in front/ beside) into your premises up to the middle of the street clean at all times.
