West Lands is located about 4km west of the University of Ghana and falls under the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency.

West Lands, also known as West Legon, is located around four km west of the University of Ghana and is under the Dome-Kwabenya constituency in the Ga East Municipal district.  Westlands is recognized as one of the elegant neighborhoods in Accra.

The area is predominantly populated with people in the mid to upper class citizens and expatriates. It is well-organized, complete with good road networks with easy access to other neighboring areas such as Achimota, Dome and Legon. The main Haatso road, which gets quite busy during the day, stretches to the Kwabenya area on one side and Legon and Madina on the other with an exit in between to the Westlands residential community.

Though this community offers most residential necessities such as schools, shops, gas stations, banks and ATMs, it is mainly residential and as such has very few industries or companies set up in the area, the few seen may be extensions of home offices; same can be said for stores or shops in the area, which are usually shops which carry imported goods to satisfy the taste of some of its residents like the American Dream Store. Generally it is a growing residential area hence not as busy as most other commercial-residential neighborhoods.

The major housing styles in the area are detached and semi-detached storey homes with decent access to electricity, water and relatively appropriate security with the presence of a police station in the area.

Some schools in the area are Brainy Brain, which offers pre, primary and secondary school education; other neighboring schools in the area are the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the University of Ghana.

The After the Sunset Bar and Grill located in this area is a popular hangout, which offers a variety of local Ghanaian and some continental dishes. Oscarpak Royal Hotel, Royal Palm Groove Lodge, Westlands Precious Hotel and Villa Victoria Guest House are some lodges in the area for recreation and guests.
