Have you got your vaccination card ready for December? Congratulations!

If not, unfortunately, you will not be allowed entry at any December event (the big ones) if you are planning to have fun.

According to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture- Mark Okraku Mantey, over 150, 000 people are expected to visit Ghana in December, in order to regulate the possibility of the spread of COVID-19, measures have been put in place to control the spread.

Speaking on Hitz FM, the Deputy Minister mentioned that vaccination cards will be required to enter events. You shall be required to show that you have been vaccinated to be able to enter social gatherings. Persons of age five and above would require a mask which would be removed for special activities like eating and drinking, he added.

In line with this development, there are vaccination centres  in all districts specially designated to administer vaccinations to individuals.

Some hospitals in Accra have the Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines. Below are three of such hospitals you can visit and get your vaccination done which will enable you to have a safe and enjoyable Christmas.

KORLE BU TEACHING HOSPITAL

POLICE HOSPITAL

With a reputation as one of the best hospitals in Cantonments and close to many luxurious apartments, the Police Hospital is one of the places in Accra to visit for the COVID-19 vaccine. We were unable to verify with them what vaccine(s) exactly they administer at the time of publishing this article.

In spite of the fact no new cases were reported publicly in November, 2021, the Deputy Minister for Arts and Culture advised organisers not to overcrowd their event venues, but encourage and ensure social distancing to provide as little risk as possible.

If you are coming to Ghana don’t forget to pack your vaccination card before hopping on the plane to Ghana.

We support wholesome fun, however, it is more enjoyable when you know you’re not putting yourself or others at risk from the fun activities you engage in this holiday period. If you haven’t already, take advantage of the vaccinations available so you can join in having fun in safety this holiday season!
