Jumia House Ghana is pleased to announce that one of the grand prizes in The Super Score Line Predict & Win competition will be a 2-nights stay at Jays Lodge located in Kwahu.  The winner of this prize will have the opportunity to experience a beautiful part of Ghana in an amazing eco-lodge.  We had the opportunity to ask the manager of Jays Lodge a few questions about the lodge and area.  The lodge is nestled on a beautiful ridge in the town of Kwahu which is about a 2.5 hour ride from Accra.

Jumia House Ghana:  Why did you decide to build a lodge in Kwahu?

Jays Lodge:   Jays Lodge was built up the Kwahu Ridge because of its still pristine and serene environment, naturally-cool weather and proximity to the cultural heartbeat of Ghana –Kumasi.

LG:  What is your favorite part about the Lodge?

JL:   The views across the town from the main balcony and the hilly-forest backdrop.

LG:  What are the types of activities do your guests enjoy in Kwahu?

JL:  The fun and nature-loving guests can enjoy the 7 km hiking and cycling trails from Obo to Aduamuah.  If they have enough energy they can cycle up to the Volta Lake.

LG:  Jays Lodge is not too far from the Volta Lake.  What other bodies of water are nearby?

JL:  Jays Lodge can arrange for motorized boats to ferry guests for a fishing experience across Volta Lake. Life vests and fishing rods are also all available at Jays.  Lake Bosumtwe, the crater lake, is also about 1.5 hours away.

LG:  If people were interested in wildlife, what sort of options to they have up there?

JL:  For the bird-watcher’s out there, the Kwahu Ridge (Pepease) is one of the 3 hotspots for bird watchers in the country.  The only butterfly sanctuary in West Africa (Bobiri) is just 1 hour away from the lodge as well.

LG:  Finally, what can guests expect if they decide to hang out at Jays?

JL:  You can also choose to just “chill” at Jays, play board games – chess, draughts or monopoly and table tennis.  At Jays Lodge we like to say that it is “not just a Lodge, its a way of Life.”
